About The Position

This position operates the soybean Preparation Plant, including moving soybeans and meal, controlling process conditions, taking samples, coordinating with upstream and downstream processes, and performing some light maintenance. The operator may also perform other duties or assignments as directed by management.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write.
• Must be able to handle heights and confined spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to work in extreme atmospheric conditions, including dust, heat, and cold.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs for a large percentage of work time.
• Must have good mechanical ability and understand the inner workings of machinery.
• Must be able to work independently and well with other employees.
• Must have logical and reasoning skills to understand moving fluids in vessels.
• Must be able to move quickly under stress and make clear, concise decisions in the elements, including high summer temperatures and cold winter days.
• Must be able to communicate process problems and questions appropriately with management.

Nice To Haves

• Mechanical experience and knowledge preferred.
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience preferred.
• A good understanding of computers and their use preferred.
• Two to four years of manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the soybean Preparation Plant.
• Move soybeans and meal.

• Coordinate with upstream and downstream processes.
• Perform light maintenance.
• Communicate process questions and upstream or downstream conflicts to management.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
