About The Position

Phelan Family Brands, a family-owned and locally operated restaurant group, is seeking a Prep team member. The primary responsibility is to properly prepare and cook food for service, ensuring correct assembly and presentation according to the company’s recipe specifications. The role requires attention to food quality and safety, maintaining clean and sanitary work areas, and communicating promptly with managers and coworkers. Team members are expected to follow company policies, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and complete assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.

Requirements

Ability to accurately read recipes and prepare items according to company specifications within an acceptable time range.
Working knowledge of food recipes and specifications.
Knowledge of and consistent attention to food-safety standards.
Ability to communicate clearly and respond promptly to the needs of guests, managers, and employees.
Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
Ability to maintain personal health and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

Read recipes accurately and prepare prep items according to company specifications and within an acceptable time range.
Inform managers promptly of food-quality issues and significant concerns, particularly food-safety concerns or subpar food products.
Apply working knowledge of food recipes and specifications to ensure food quality.
Maintain a consistent focus on food-safety standards.
Maintain favorable working relationships and communicate clearly and promptly with guests, managers, and employees.
Maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
Follow company rules and policies described in the staff handbook.
Help ensure a safe working environment to reduce the risk of foodborne illness, injury, and accidents.
Keep the dish, cook, and expo line clean and sanitary.
Maintain personal health and sanitation standards.
Stock and restock items as needed, including when deliveries arrive.
Complete job responsibilities in a timely and effective manner.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
