PREP COOK (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Prep Cook prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role follows the Chef’s daily production schedule, uses approved recipes and production standards, and helps maintain food quality, serving temperatures, portion control, and food safety. The Prep Cook also takes and fulfills customer orders, serves customers efficiently and in a friendly manner, and addresses customer concerns. This is a full-time position at Samsung SRA Cafe in Mountain View, California. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The pay range is $24.00 to $26.00 per hour. Previous high-volume food service experience is required.
Requirements
- Previous high-volume food service experience is required.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Obtain the daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.
- Prepare items on production sheets according to established quantities and recipes.
- Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
- Taste completed meals to ensure quality.
- Operate and clean equipment according to department procedures after each use.
- Store, label, and date food items according to policy.
- Follow HACCP guidelines and food safety procedures.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and logs.
- Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Take customer orders and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
- Serve customers efficiently and in a friendly manner.
- Complete orders from steam tables and grills and serve customers at multiple stations.
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Resolve customer concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
