About The Position

Prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role includes preparing items according to production schedules, recipes, and established quantities; checking meal quality; maintaining food safety and sanitation; and serving customers efficiently and courteously. The position is at Kamehameha Schools, Kapalama, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Full-time schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The fixed pay rate is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of heavy prep experience.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Obtain daily production schedules and preparation requirements from the Chef.
Prepare items on production sheets according to established quantities and recipes.
Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
Taste completed meals to ensure quality.
Operate and clean equipment according to department procedures after each use.
Store, label, and date food items according to policy.
Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure food quality and safety.
Complete required documentation, reports, and logs.
Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
Take customer orders and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
Serve customers efficiently and in a friendly manner.
Complete orders from steam tables and grills and serve customers at multiple stations.
Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
Resolve customer concerns.
Perform other duties as assigned.
