About The Position
Glen Kernan Club is seeking a dependable and motivated Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in quality and consistency, and wants to be part of an elevated dining experience. As a Prep Cook, you will support the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, following recipes, maintaining kitchen organization, and ensuring food is prepared efficiently and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong attention to detail, a passion for food preparation, and a willingness to learn and grow.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Prep Cook, Line Cook or similar kitchen role required
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bake ware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical demands of the position
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of pastry, baking, and dessert preparation is a plus
- culinary training is a plus
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and cutting vegetables, meats, and other items per recipe specifications.
- Operate cutting tools and kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with Executive Chef to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow recipes precisely to prepare sauces, dressings, entrees, and side dishes, ensuring consistent taste and quality.
- Ensure proper storage of all food items to maintain freshness and organization.
- Check food deliveries for accuracy, quality, and freshness; store products according to safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation and safety procedures.
- Complete opening and closing checklists to ensure the kitchen is prepared for service and secure at closing.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure safety, efficiency, and a clean work environment.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and guidelines set by Hampton Golf.
