PREP COOK (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)
About The Position
Morrison Healthcare is hiring full-time and part-time Prep Cooks at Exodus Seton Hall in Los Angeles, California. The role prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The Prep Cook follows production schedules, recipes, portion standards, food-safety requirements, and sanitation procedures while helping ensure meals meet quality standards. The position also involves taking customer orders, preparing short-order items, serving customers at multiple stations, and addressing customer concerns. The listed pay range is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour. Schedules include varying days and hours and AM and PM shifts; details are provided during the interview.
Requirements
- Previous cooking experience is required.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Obtain daily production schedules and preparation requirements from the Chef.
- Prepare items according to production sheets, established quantities, and recipes.
- Complete daily production worksheets and waste log sheets, and taste completed meals to ensure quality.
- Operate and clean equipment according to department procedures after each use.
- Store, label, and date food items according to policy and follow HACCP guidelines.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and logs.
- Comply with applicable health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Take customer orders and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
- Serve customers efficiently and in a friendly manner.
- Complete orders from steam tables and grills and serve customers at multiple stations.
- Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Resolve customer concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
