PREP COOK (FULL AND PART TIME)
About The Position
Wolfgang Puck Catering is hiring full-time and part-time Prep Cooks in Culver City, California. The role prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The Prep Cook works from production schedules and recipes, maintains food quality and safety, and provides efficient, friendly service across customer stations. The posted schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; further details are available upon interview. The pay range is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. Two years of experience working in a high-volume environment is required.
Requirements
- Two years of experience working in a high-volume environment.
- Follow company policies on using medium-weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or cleaning a slicer.
- Use oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers, or steam tables.
- Wear slip-resistant shoes and use proper lifting techniques.
Responsibilities
- Obtain the daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.
- Prepare items on production sheets using established quantities and recipes.
- Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets, and taste completed meals to ensure quality.
- Operate and clean equipment according to department procedures after each use.
- Store, label, and date food items according to policy, and follow HACCP guidelines.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and logs.
- Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Take customer orders and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
- Serve customers efficiently and in a friendly manner.
- Complete orders from steam tables and grills and serve customers at multiple stations.
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
- Resolve customer concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
