About The Position

The Prep Cook at Wiley University is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting in the creation of meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a prep cook role.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and maintenance.
• Effective communication skills to interact with kitchen staff and management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and measure ingredients required for various recipes, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Assist chefs in the kitchen by performing basic cooking tasks such as chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and assembling dishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the kitchen supervisor to ensure timely replenishment.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure a safe dining experience.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely meal service.
• Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.
• Assist in receiving and storing food supplies, ensuring proper handling and storage procedures.
• Adapt to various tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the kitchen team and meet service demands.
