About The Position

Kneads Bakeshop is expanding and preparing to open a new location in Navy Yard, Washington, DC. We are looking for a great prep cook that enjoys a fast-paced, high volume, high quality, creative and fun environment. Plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in accordance with departmental quality standards and recipes. Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment. This position description incorporates the core responsibilities of the job. It recognizes that other related duties not specifically mentioned might also be performed, and that not all responsibilities may be carried out depending on operational needs.

Requirements

2+ years in a Prep Cook role.
High volume, scratch or upscale kitchen experience.
Previous restaurant experience.
Ability to stand and walk for a long period of time.
Ability to carry and lift heavy objects.
Good oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Organization and time management skills.
Prep Cook Experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

Follows established food safety guidelines, recipes, standards and procedures.
Maintaining a clean and food-safe environment.
Passionately preparing, portioning, and/or cooking food items according to quality specifications.
Assessing ingredients and items for freshness and quality, rotating product appropriately.
Be a team player and work with a positive and supportive attitude.
Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the Bakery, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
