About The Position
DISC Surgery Center is seeking a per diem PreOp/PACU RN for its West Palm Beach, Florida location, which specializes in orthopedic, spinal, and pain management procedures. The position has a varied schedule based on surgery volume. The nurse monitors post-operative patients, assesses vital signs and airways, manages pain, administers prescribed medications and treatments, documents care in electronic health records, and supports and educates patients and their families. The RN collaborates with the surgical team to promote patient safety and comfort.
Requirements
- Valid RN license.
- BCLS and ACLS certification, or the ability to obtain them within 90 days of hire.
- Proficiency in airway management and post-anesthesia recovery.
- Two years of experience in acute care, PACU, or ICU.
Responsibilities
- Monitor post-operative patients' conditions and manage their pain levels.
- Assess patients' vital signs and airways after surgery.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner in electronic health records.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
