RN - PreOp/PACU(Per Diem)
About The Position
DISC Surgery Center is seeking a per diem PreOp/PACU RN for its West Palm Beach location. DISC Surgery Center provides spine care, orthopedics, interventional pain management, and sports medicine through outpatient surgery centers and full-service clinics, with a focus on minimally invasive surgical solutions and high-acuity procedures in an outpatient setting. The RN monitors post-operative patients, manages pain, assesses vital signs and airways after surgery, and collaborates with the surgical team to support patient safety and comfort. The position also includes administering prescribed medications and treatments, documenting care accurately and promptly in electronic health records, and providing emotional support and education to patients and their families.
Requirements
- Valid RN license.
- BCLS and ACLS certification, or ability to obtain both within 90 days of hire.
- Proficiency in airway management and post-anesthesia recovery.
- Two years of experience in acute care, PACU, or ICU.
Responsibilities
- Monitor post-operative patients’ conditions and manage their pain levels.
- Assess patients’ vital signs and airways after surgery.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
