About The Position

The Pre-Admission nurse will phone patients prior surgery to obtain a thorough and comprehensive medical history from them, give pre-op instructions, initiate pre-op teaching and clarify the patient’s understanding of the procedure, intended anesthetic approach, expected outcomes and personal responsibilities. They must work in concert with the Scheduling Clerk for optimum utilization of the O.R. schedule, suites, personnel and equipment. They must be alert for potential problems encountered during the interview and handle them appropriately. They will at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with patients, colleagues, and supervisors. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse or LPN in the state of Idaho.
  • Current BLS required.
  • Background in medical/surgical nursing required.
