About The Position

Nautilus Insurance Group is seeking a Premium Recovery Analyst to join their team in Scottsdale, AZ. This role is located in their Scottsdale, AZ headquarters and operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring four days in the office and one day remote. The primary responsibility of the Premium Recovery Analyst is to work directly with insureds to recover outstanding Premium Audit and Deductible balances in a customer service-focused environment. The role also involves supporting the overall management of Nautilus Premium Audit billing inventory, coordinating payment arrangements, tracking agent collection activities, and reviewing files for external collection. The analyst will establish and maintain professional relationships with insureds and general agents for payment resolution, ensuring all communications are polite, professional, and courteous. A key aspect of the role is driving the collection of delinquent premium audit and deductible balances with sound judgment, balancing the need for collection with fostering strong customer relationships. The analyst will handle a high volume of inbound and outbound insured and agent calls, partner with them to establish payment arrangements for past-due A/R balances, and investigate and resolve complex billing issues. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for resolving payment, cash application, reconciliation, and system-related issues. The role requires effective problem-solving skills to address and resolve insured premium audit disputes, as well as preparing, assigning, and reconciling audit and deductible files turned over to an outside collection agency. Additionally, the analyst will perform full-cycle agency account billing, including reconciling and allocating cash receipts, processing agent payments, and responding to AR inquiries. The position involves creating and monitoring monthly reports for management and interacting with team members to foster a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2 years insurance-related experience or training to include basic knowledge of insurance policy and premium transactions is a plus.
  • Must have a strong customer service background, working in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Must have knowledge and basic proficiency of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel and E-mail.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out the instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Completion of general insurance courses or general accounting courses preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the overall management of Nautilus Premium Audit billing inventory, including ensuring all bills are received by agents, coordinating payment arrangements, track agent collection activities to ensure all deadlines are met as well reviewing files for external collection
  • Establishes and maintains a professional relationship when contacting insureds and/or general agents for payment resolution; all calls/e-mails to be performed in a polite, professional and courteous manner
  • Drive collection of delinquent premium audit and deductible balances while demonstrating a high level of judgment in collecting; balance the need to collect while fostering a strong customer relationship
  • Effectively handle high volume of inbound and outbound insured and agent calls
  • Partner with insureds and agents to establish payment arrangements to rectify past due A/R balances.
  • Investigate and resolve complex billing issues with payments, cash application, reconciliations and system-related issues through collaboration with cross functional teams
