About The Position

The Predictive Reliability Tech (PDM Tech 1 - Lubrication) will work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures. This role involves performing lubrication and preventive maintenance on power transmissions and other power-driven rotating equipment without direct supervision. The position requires knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment, best practices for lubrication sampling, filtering, and replenishing, and assisting in formulating maintenance standards. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of lubrication best practices and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance procedures, and ideally be certified as a MLT Level 1 Lubrication Technician. Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends, is necessary. The role also includes performing other assigned duties, potentially including Ultrasonic Emissions Training/Certification, ensuring compliance with company regulations, achieving performance expectations, communicating with team members for planning, maintaining personal tools, meeting physical job requirements, performing tasks safely and efficiently, and completing administrative duties accurately. Maintaining positive customer and employee relations is also a key aspect of this position.

  • Must have working knowledge of lubrication best practices and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance procedures.
  • Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
  • Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.
  • Ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Control Precision — The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Communication/ Expression —The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Information Ordering — The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).

Nice To Haves

  • Five years’ experience in industrial maintenance/lubrication preferred.
  • AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred, but not required.
  • IMCL MLT 1 certification preferred, but not required.
  • Must be or be able to be certified as MLT Level 1 Lubrication Technician.
  • Optional functions of this position will include Ultrasonic Emissions Training / Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lubrication and preventive maintenance on power transmissions and other power-driven rotating equipment.
  • Lubrication sampling, filtering, and replenishing in accordance with best practices.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance/lubrication standards and work procedures.
  • Provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Perform any and all other duties that are assigned by the responsible supervisor.
  • Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
  • Communications with all team members to assist the development of short- and long-range planning in assist of the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Maintain personal tools required for your job.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion.
