Preconstruction Manager

Boston•Columbia, MD
•$165,000 - $190,000

About The Position

First Finish, a full-service hotel renovation contractor that is part of the Shawmut family, is seeking a construction professional to bring project experience into early project planning and influence strategy, pursuits, and outcomes before construction begins. The Preconstruction Manager partners with Operations and Leadership on early-phase planning, leads conceptual estimating, GMP development, and pursuit strategy, and advises on risk, sequencing, constructability, and logistics. The role is a strategic, collaborative thought partner rather than a heads-down estimator, helping position First Finish to win and execute complex work. The position may suit Senior Project Managers or Project Executives seeking a strategic pivot, estimators seeking greater influence, Design-Build or tenant-improvement leaders who enjoy early problem-solving, and professionals who enjoy critical thinking, collaboration, and mentoring. The company values strong project instincts and holistic thinking; candidates do not need to be fully formed preconstruction specialists. The Columbia, Maryland base salary range is $165,000–$190,000. Placement depends on factors including experience, project-size capability for Construction & Field roles, and internal company equity.
