About The Position

A well-established mechanical contractor is hiring a Preconstruction Manager to lead its involvement in design-build, design-assist, and negotiated mechanical projects, from initial concept through final pricing and turnover to operations. The role serves as a technical and client-facing resource, developing conceptual budgets, leading value-engineering efforts, reviewing designs for constructability, coordinating equipment selections, and helping position projects for successful execution. This opportunity is tied to building a new leadership team in an untapped market. The successful candidate will be at the head of executive function and eligible for corresponding rewards. The contractor delivers HVACR, plumbing, electrical, service, and repair work for government, institutional, commercial, health care, and industrial organizations, and offers continued company and career growth supported by a strong backlog of work.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in an estimating role for a mechanical contractor.
At least 5 years of experience in a business development or project executive-type role.
Experience with commercial mechanical projects averaging $4 million or more in value.
Must be able to commute in the Huntsville, Alabama market.

Nice To Haves

Full mechanical scope experience across HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal is preferred; candidates with strong expertise in a single mechanical trade will also be considered.
