About The Position

Performs setup on and operates a variety of manually operated outside-diameter (OD) grinding machinery. Collaborates with colleagues to maximize productivity while manufacturing high-quality valves and actuators for aerospace and power generation customers. The role involves precision cylindrical and surface grinding, producing tooling and fixtures, inspecting parts, and adjusting machine offsets to maintain quality. Applicants must be a U.S. Person under applicable export regulations or a non-U.S. person eligible to obtain the required export authorization. Random drug and alcohol testing is required throughout the year.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Related experience setting up and operating manual machinery.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances, from 2 ten-thousandths to 20 millionths, using complex drawings containing GD&T.
• Ability to perform accurate manual inspections of parts produced.
• Must be detail-oriented, quality-conscious, reliable, and able to stay focused on task.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined in applicable export regulations, or a non-U.S. person eligible to obtain required export authorization.
• Must undergo random drug and alcohol testing throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate precision cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, shop travelers, and operation sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.
• Make tooling and fixtures in addition to working on production parts.
• Inspect parts to specifications and document results.
• Install fixtures and set work offsets.
• Diagnose deviations and trends accurately and efficiently, and adjust offsets based on analysis to maintain product quality.
• Report machinery, tooling, or quality issues to a supervisor.
• Run multiple machine centers as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
