SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS Assembles, tests, inspects, labels, packages, and performs final processing of product, both electrically and mechanically. Performs duties within a team atmosphere and displays flexibility within a production environment. Performs level 1 precision assembly of aerospace and defense products by following detailed work instructions, engineeringdrawings, routers, and quality standards. Assembles mechanical and electro-mechanical components using hand tools andprecision measuring equipment while maintaining workmanship, safety, and quality requirements. Performs basicinspections and functional testing under the guidance of experienced assemblers and production leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and written procedures.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for precision assembly work.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and accurately.
  • Basic understanding of quality standards and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to learn precision soldering and assembly processes in accordance with company workmanship standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills for production documentation and manufacturing systems.
  • Must be authorized to access information and hardware subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations, including U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents, Political Asylees, or Refugees.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Regularly required to sit and/or stand for extended periods while performing precision assembly operations.
  • Frequently use hands and fingers for repetitive assembly tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Perform repetitive reaching, grasping, bending, twisting, and handling of small components.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, read detailed work instructions, and identify small parts and defects; use of magnification devices may be required.
  • Frequently lift and carry materials and equipment up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and testing devices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation while complying with all safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to noise, fumes from assembly processes, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school coursework or vocational training in electronics, manufacturing, or mechanical assembly is preferred.
  • Two to three (2-3) years of precision electro-mechanical manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience in an aerospace or electronics manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished product according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Perform measuring, fitting, fastening, wiring, and basic soldering operations as required by the assembly process.
  • Use standard hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Perform testing, continuity checks, and verification of assembled products to ensure functionality and conformance to specifications.
  • Conduct in-process visual inspections to identify workmanship defects and report discrepancies to production leadership.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, routers, and quality records.
  • Follow established ESD, FOD, safety, and quality procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Support cross-training and assist other production areas as workload demands.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and production efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
