About The Position

The PCO Liaison plays a vital role in supporting and sustaining the engagement of Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs) throughout Spokane County. This volunteer position serves as the primary connection point between the County Party and its network of PCOs—helping them stay informed, motivated, and equipped to succeed in their roles as grassroots party leaders.

Requirements

Strong communication and organizational skills.
Friendly, supportive demeanor and commitment to Democratic values.
Familiarity with the role of a PCO or willingness to learn.
Comfort with email, spreadsheets, Zoom, VoteBuilder (helpful but not required).

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for all active and newly appointed PCOs.
Maintain regular communication through phone calls, emails, and check-ins.
Distribute important updates, action alerts, and meeting reminders.
Ensure PCOs receive relevant training materials and voter data tools.
Encourage PCO participation in county party meetings, training events, and campaign efforts.
Organize periodic check-ins and appreciation efforts to keep morale high.
Help identify inactive or struggling PCOs and offer guidance or escalate needs to leadership.
Welcome newly elected or appointed PCOs.
Help facilitate orientation and ensure access to party resources (PCO handbook, VoteBuilder, etc.).
Pair new PCOs with experienced mentors when possible.
Ensure PCOs have the materials they need for canvassing, GOTV, and outreach (e.g., flyers, walking lists, talking points).
Collect and share best practices among PCOs for outreach and organizing.
Track PCO activity, participation, and needs in coordination with staff or leadership.
Gather feedback from PCOs to inform party strategy and improve engagement.
Collaborate with volunteer coordinators and leadership to align PCO engagement with broader organizing goals.
Help plan and staff PCO-specific events, training sessions, or social gatherings.
