About The Position

In this role, you will oversee the facility’s compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and ensure all detention operations, reporting procedures, investigations, training activities, and resident protections related to sexual abuse and harassment prevention are conducted in accordance with PREA standards, government detention standards, and facility policies. You will coordinate prevention initiatives, monitor compliance activities, conduct audits and reviews, and work closely with detention leadership, investigators, healthcare personnel, and outside agencies to maintain a safe and compliant detention environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to manage sensitive operational matters within a secure detention environment.

Requirements

  • Must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of applicable federal Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards and zero-tolerance directives, along with formal compliance training or certification from a recognized government-approved body or specialized corrections academy.
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of operational compliance, quality assurance, or auditing experience within a secure residential facility, correctional institution, or government contract environment, with a proven track record of managing internal facility self-assessments and coordinating external audits.
  • Must possess the advanced communication and instructional skills necessary to develop and deliver mandatory sexual abuse and assault prevention orientation and annual training curricula to facility personnel, subcontractors, volunteers, and residents, ensuring all tracking documentation meets strict government reporting guidelines.
  • Must be able to provide proof of citizenship or legal US work authorization.
  • If prior active-duty military, must provide copies of DD214(s) showing discharge condition.
  • Must consent to fingerprinting.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check and security screening.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment medical assessment and drug screening.
  • Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee PREA compliance activities and ensure facility operations adhere to PREA standards, government detention requirements, company policies, and applicable regulations related to sexual abuse and harassment prevention.
  • Coordinate PREA reporting procedures, incident tracking, resident protection measures, and operational response activities related to allegations of sexual abuse, harassment, or misconduct.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, compliance reviews, and operational assessments to identify deficiencies, policy concerns, or areas requiring corrective action related to PREA compliance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, investigative records, incident reports, training records, resident notifications, and compliance tracking systems associated with PREA operations.
  • Coordinate with investigators, detention personnel, healthcare staff, behavioral health providers, facility leadership, and outside agencies regarding PREA-related incidents and operational concerns.
  • Ensure residents receive appropriate information regarding PREA rights, reporting procedures, protective services, and access to confidential reporting resources.
  • Assist with investigations involving allegations of sexual abuse, harassment, retaliation, or staff misconduct while ensuring proper documentation and operational coordination.
  • Coordinate staff training related to PREA standards, reporting requirements, resident protections, victim response procedures, and operational compliance expectations.
  • Monitor housing assignments, resident classifications, operational practices, and facility procedures to identify and reduce potential PREA-related risks or vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare operational reports, compliance summaries, audit documentation, corrective action plans, and statistical data related to PREA compliance activities for facility leadership and government review.
  • Support resident safety initiatives, victim advocacy coordination, emergency response procedures, and operational improvements related to PREA compliance and facility safety.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, strong communication, and sound judgment while supporting safe, compliant, and professional detention facility operations.
