This position is considered Seasonal Full-Time, with an approximate start date in March/April and running through December, including some downtime during the off-peak period. The teacher will conduct a classroom instructional curriculum and activities for assigned children, encouraging the growth of language, social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and communication skills. They will supervise and monitor the work activities of assigned Preschool Aide(s), conduct and monitor developmental screening of children, and assist in collaborating and implementing Individual Educational Plans (IEPs). The role involves monitoring the progress of individual children, performing daily health checks, and participating in home visits with parents. The teacher will also prepare, maintain, and present records, documents, reports, reviews, and databases, and assist in interviewing, hiring, and evaluation of Teacher Aides. Additionally, they will represent the MSHS program to community and educational agencies, develop and maintain dual language in the classroom, prepare children for transition into kindergarten, and implement CLASS dimensions and domains. Participation in early release trainings, mentoring, and professional development is expected. The ability to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, provide experiences that foster curiosity, initiative, problem-solving, and creativity, and develop and implement clear, reasonable, consistent, and age-appropriate rules and expectations for children is crucial. The role requires multitasking, time management, meeting deadlines, and remaining calm and professional under pressure, while maintaining confidentiality of client records and adhering to CC Idaho policies, procedures, safety practices, and Head Start Performance Standards.
