This position is considered Seasonal Full-Time, with an approximate start date in April and running through December, including some downtime during the off-peak period. The Preschool Aide will assist the teacher with planning and conducting a classroom instructional curriculum and activities for assigned children, which encourages the growth of language, social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and communication skills. The role involves assisting in daily health checks, developmental screenings, and implementing Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs). The aide will monitor children's progress, supervise classroom activities in the teacher's absence, and assist in preparing and maintaining records and reports. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of educational practices, developing dual language in the classroom, and preparing children for kindergarten are also key aspects. The position requires maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, providing experiences that foster curiosity and creativity, and establishing clear, age-appropriate rules. The role may also include duties as a bus monitor and requires maintaining client confidentiality.
