About The Position

The Pre-Registration Specialist performs pre-registration duties for scheduled patients to ensure that necessary information is in place to support quality, timely service. Verifies benefits, calculates the patient's financial liability, validates demographic information, and performs point of service collections. Communicates essential information regarding the scheduled service to the patient.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Must be 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Pre-registers patients including obtaining and validating demographic and insurance information while maintaining a 95% quality rating and meeting appropriate productivity metrics.
• Processes patient pre-registrations and admissions timely and accurately.
• Reviews and completes identified tasks in the ADT system.
• Verifies patient insurance and benefits.
• Creates patient estimates to determine the patient’s financial liability.
• Collects and processes payments from patients.
• Reconciles payments made within the day.
• Answers phones, takes appropriate action, and forwards when necessary to appropriate departments.
