About The Position

The Pre-Registration/Receptionist at Nevada Regional Medical Center (NRMC) is responsible for scheduling patient appointments, collecting payments, registering patients, and maintaining a clean and welcoming reception area. This role ensures efficient processing of paperwork and clinical documentation, verifies insurance authorizations, and maintains accurate billing information. The position requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environment, and strong communication skills. The receptionist will also maintain confidentiality of patient information and work collaboratively with various departments and referral sources.

Requirements

  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
  • Ability to complete competency for CPR/First Aid.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical equations.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office competence with Word, Excel, Internet and E-mail.
  • Knowledge of operation of phone, copier, fax and printer.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient information.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must adhere to NRMC appearance and attire policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules patient appointments to ensure good access to care.
  • Collects and processes copays and payments for services.
  • Registers patients, verifying demographic and insurance information.
  • Maintains a clean and welcoming reception and waiting area.
  • Processes paperwork and clinical documentation efficiently.
  • Checks insurance authorization for treatment and communicates benefits.
  • Assures and confirms billing accuracy and works with coding/medical records.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with business office peers, clinicians, and referral source offices.
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service when working directly with patients, physicians, and medical departments.
