About The Position

UPS is currently looking for Part-time Package Pre-loaders to work from our Nanaimo Package Facility. Preloaders are responsible for unloading and loading packages off and on trailers, air canisters and other vehicles early in the morning.

Requirements

• Available to work Monday to Friday
• Ability to follow set of safety and standard procedures
• Good organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding work environment
• Able to regularly and safely lift packages between 10-lbs up to 70-lbs unassisted
• Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.

Nice To Haves

• Warehouse experience is considered an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Unloading and loading packages off and on trailers, air canisters and other vehicles early in the morning.
• Lifting, lowering, and moving of packages weighing between 10 to 70lbs.
• Scanning and sorting packages based on postal codes, addresses, package dimensions
• Understanding and recognizing postal codes, routing charts and maps
• Standing closely with conveyor, roller belts and other equipment in the warehouse
• Working in a team environment to ensure efficient transfer of packages.
