About The Position

Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Teacher Aide to support our Pre-K program. The successful candidate will assist the classroom teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for our youngest learners. Responsibilities include supporting daily classroom activities, working with individual students and small groups, preparing instructional materials, supervising children during routines, and promoting positive social and emotional development.

Requirements

  • Acts 34, 114, and 151 Clearances, Physical, and TB must be presented before employment can commence
  • Associates degree or higher required.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a current Child Development Associate’s certificate for preschool is preferred.
  • Experience with Conscious Discipline- A Social -Emotional Early Learning Curriculum is preferred
  • Experience with Creative Curriculum is preferred
  • Experience with Teaching Strategies Gold is preferred
  • Experience with ECERS (Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale) is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with classroom work ensuring that students understand all assignments given by the teacher, especially those who take longer to understand materials.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a positive classroom environment to encourage positive behavior from students.
  • Assist the teacher with planning and evaluating functions as designed by the teacher.
  • Document and report relevant information regarding student progress, behavioral changes, or physical needs to the teacher as required.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, workshops and in-service programs.
  • Support with student nap time and lunch ensuring these essential services are supported.
  • Assist in preparation of materials needed for instruction, including but not limited to flash cards, film strips, learning centers and games.
  • Perform clerical duties, including but not limited to copying, filing, computer input and bulletin boards.
  • Assist children with self-help activities such as feeding, toileting and dressing as needed.
  • Provide supervision and continue classroom activities in the brief absence of the teacher.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the program leads and the Teacher.
  • Ride the bus with students if requested and needed.
