About The Position

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical is seeking a full-time Pre-Fabrication Helper/Welder for its pre-fabrication shop in Chester, Virginia. The role performs installations, welding, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, associated materials, and equipment in commercial electrical construction. Travel may be required. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship; the position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support.

Requirements

Recent related commercial electrical experience or equivalent education.
Welding experience.
Experience reading fabrication drawings and blueprints.
High school diploma or GED.
OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain it.
Successfully pass a pre-employment (post-offer) background check.
Pass an MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
Authorization to work full-time in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Experience bending pipe and running various types of conduit.

Responsibilities

Perform installations, welding, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment.
Measure, lay out, and hang pipe; thread pipe; solder or braze pipe; and set mechanical equipment.
Work from all types of ladders.
Comply with company and customer safety policies and procedures.
Maintain the Master Inventory List of inbound and outbound materials and keep the shop supervisor apprised of inventory levels for assigned work.
Advise Project Managers, Superintendents, Service Technicians, and Estimators of material order status.
