Pre-Employment Transitions Instructor
About The Position
Community Workforce Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Pre-Employment Transition (Pre-ETS) Instructor to lead engaging classroom instruction for high school students with disabilities. In this role, you'll design and deliver lessons that prepare students for employment, post-secondary education, independent living, and lifelong success while building meaningful relationships with students, schools, and community partners throughout Onslow County. For over 60 years, Community Workforce Solutions has been helping individuals with disabilities achieve greater independence through employment, education, and community inclusion. We partner with schools, families, employers, and local communities to create opportunities that empower people to succeed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Children, Education, Rehabilitation, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities will be considered)
- Experience teaching, training, or facilitating instruction
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with a driving record that meets agency standards
- Ability to travel between school sites throughout Onslow County
- Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging instruction for students ages 14-22 participating in Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)
- Teach lessons focused on the five required areas of Pre-ETS: Job Exploration Counseling, Work-Based Learning Experiences, Workplace Readiness Training, Instruction in Self-Advocacy, Postsecondary Education Counseling
- Adapt instruction to meet a variety of learning styles and student needs
- Foster student confidence, independence, and workplace readiness
- Collaborate with facilitators, school personnel, and community partners
- Travel between multiple high schools throughout Onslow County
- Maintain documentation and program records
