About The Position

The Pre-Doctoral Fellow proposes and undertakes a mentored, innovative project to develop novel molecular therapies for inherited retinal degenerative diseases (IRDs). The work involves studying host-AAV interactions and retinal tropism, developing enabling gene therapy technologies, and potentially translating preclinical therapeutic gene-transfer programs. The fellow performs in vivo experiments to characterize retinal phenotypic defects in mouse models of IRDs, as well as designing and conducting in vitro and animal experiments, analyzing results, and presenting outcomes. The fellow works under the supervision of a Principal Investigator and collaborates with a research team.
