About The Position

A Pre-Arrival Coordinator who excels in this role serves as a resource and liaison between the patient/family, referral source, clinics, and physicians. This role involves selecting the correct patient to ensure medical record accuracy and decrease potential duplicate medical records. The coordinator will pre-register all patient types for services, accurately collecting, processing, and distributing demographic and billing information to appropriate units, providers, ancillary, and service departments. Additionally, they will schedule procedures for all ancillary departments utilizing individual procedure protocols, explaining the procedure, preparation, and requirements. The role also includes determining patient eligibility, coverage, and insurance limitations, and requesting results of previous pertinent studies from other facilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • 1 year Medical Office experience Preferred.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Associates Degree preferred.
