About The Position

The Pre Age Assembler performs general assembly tasks involved in packaging quality cheese products, including un-racking, bagging, cryovac packaging, palletizing, and rack washing. Employees rotate through all positions on the line during the shift. The role requires working safely and efficiently while maintaining sanitation, housekeeping, quality, and regulatory standards. The position is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a starting wage of $26.15 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and understand instructions.
• Ability to manipulate, lift, and position heavy equipment.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl.
• Ability to work in a cool environment below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and to lift and carry 26 pounds multiple times per minute.
• Ability to climb steps and safety ladders occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand continuously.
• Regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Manually remove cheese wheels weighing up to 26 pounds from racks and place them on a table.
• Bag cheese wheels and move them to the next conveyor.
• Monitor cheese moving along the belt to ensure continuous flow through the line.
• Monitor the cryovac machine and place bagged cheese on plates, keeping bags flat over the heat-seal bars.
• Stack sealed cheese wheels weighing up to 26 pounds in a tote on a pallet according to the product template’s configuration and count.
• Wash racks and slats throughout the day and return them to production in a timely manner.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment.
• Return rejected packages from the dry pack area to the wet packing area and open them so they can be resealed.
• Verify the accuracy of pallet, box, tag, barcode, and tally sheet information.
• Rotate through all positions on the line during the shift.
• Maintain good sanitation and housekeeping practices and comply with quality system and regulatory requirements.
• Work safely and efficiently, maintain regular attendance, and perform other duties as assigned.
