About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pre-Admission Testing/Pre-Op Registered Nurse (RN) to support surgical patients through a centralized call center environment. The role involves critical assessment, patient communication, and chart review to ensure patients are ready for surgical procedures. The position supports approximately seven facilities and does not involve direct patient care in a traditional hospital setting. A 2–3 week orientation period is provided to build familiarity with processes and responsibilities. Business casual or scrubs are acceptable attire; open-toed shoes, tank tops, and distressed jeans are not permitted.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• BLS (AHA) certification.
• 1–2 years of experience in Pre-Admission Testing, Pre-Anesthesia, or Pre-Op nursing.
• Familiarity with the Epic EMR system.
• Strong multitasking and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Punctual, accountable, and dependable.

Nice To Haves

• CAPA certification.
• Triage experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct approximately nine patient calls daily to assess readiness for surgery and anesthesia.
• Review Epic charts for patient history, medications, and care instructions.
• Educate patients on pre-operative protocols, including NPO instructions, skin preparation, and arrival instructions.
• Complete outstanding risk assessments to evaluate patient eligibility for surgery.
