About The Position

Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking a mission-minded Practice Manager to lead the daily operations of our Old Brooklyn Health Center. The Practice Manager oversees the daily operations, personnel, and facilities of the health center. This position leads health center support staff, manages patient flow and administrative operations, monitors quality and financial performance, and ensures compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, and applicable healthcare requirements. This is a hands-on leadership position. The Practice Manager is trained in patient-access functions and assists with front-office and back-office operations during busy periods or staffing shortages. The position works closely with licensed clinical staff and other leaders to maintain continuity of care, strengthen workflows, and provide a high-quality patient experience. The ideal candidate is an engaged and visible leader who can balance employee supervision, operational problem-solving, compliance, financial responsibility, and direct support of daily health center operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of supervisory or practice-management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience supervising employees and managing daily operational systems or workflows.
  • Experience with employee scheduling, performance management, training, timekeeping, and staffing coverage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use operational data and performance measures to identify concerns and improve results.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Ability and willingness to complete patient-access training and provide hands-on operational support when needed.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare compliance, safety, confidentiality, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive patient and employee information appropriately.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from different backgrounds, identities, and socioeconomic circumstances.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing a health center, medical practice, ambulatory clinic, or comparable healthcare operation.

  • Experience using electronic health record, scheduling, timekeeping, and performance-reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily health center operations, including patient flow, staffing, scheduling, front-office and back-office processes, facilities, and achievement of performance goals.
  • Provide hands-on operational support, including patient-access functions, room turnover, supply management, and other duties needed to maintain continuity of care.
  • Hire, train, supervise, develop, and retain health center support staff.
  • Establish expectations, provide feedback, complete performance evaluations, and administer disciplinary action in consultation with People, Culture & Equity and Health Services leadership.
  • Create employee schedules, review PTO requests, monitor staffing and overtime, and reconcile and approve timecards.
  • Review operational data and key performance indicators to improve workflows, reduce wait times, address service gaps, and strengthen the patient experience.
  • Partner with licensed staff and organizational leaders to implement new services, protocols, systems, and operational improvements.
  • Oversee inventory, supplies, equipment, facilities, security, safety activities, and required incident reporting.
  • Support compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, and applicable HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and Ohio Department of Health requirements.
  • Assist with operating and capital budgets, financial controls, receipt deposits, and achievement of health center financial objectives.
  • Represent the health center in community partnerships, organizational initiatives, meetings, and special projects as assigned.
