About The Position

The Practice Manager II is responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating the daily activities of a Physician Practice. This role often oversees multiple locations with diverse specialties and typically manages 10-25 providers. The complexity of this position is considered medium to high due to its scope, and activities such as research, CPC, and managing residents. Practice Manager IIs commonly manage Practice Manager Is and/or Practice Supervisors at designated locations within their scope. The role involves interacting with co-workers, visitors, and other staff in alignment with Jefferson's values. Key responsibilities include supervising Physician Practice operations to ensure prompt and courteous patient treatment, assisting in policy and procedure development with upper management for efficient practice operations, and managing personnel matters such as new employee training, performance management, and disciplinary actions. This includes interviewing and participating in hiring decisions for the designated office. The Practice Manager II is expected to be responsive to the needs of providers and escalate issues to Regional leaders or Administrators when necessary. Additionally, they perform annual written performance appraisals of support staff and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Typically requires at least 3-5 years of experience in a Physician Practice or Healthcare setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Management/Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Physician Practice operations to ensure prompt and courteous treatment of patients as well as other aspects of the Practice
  • Assists in developing policies and procedures in conjunction with upper management to maintain the effective and efficient operation of the Practice.
  • Manages personnel issues including new employee training, performance management and disciplinary actions.
  • Interviews new employee prospects and participates in hiring decisions for designated office.
  • Responsive to the needs and requests of providers and escalates issues Regional leaders or Administrators where appropriate.
  • Performs annual written performance appraisals of support staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
