About The Position

The Practice Manager II is responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating the daily activities of a Physician Practice. This role often oversees multiple locations with diverse specialties and typically manages 10-25 providers. The complexity of this position is considered medium to high due to its scope, and may involve activities such as research and managing residents. Practice Manager IIs commonly supervise Practice Manager Is and/or Practice Supervisors at designated locations within their scope. Key responsibilities include: - Interacting with co-workers, visitors, and other staff in alignment with Jefferson's values. - Supervising Physician Practice operations to ensure prompt and courteous patient treatment and other practice-related aspects. - Assisting in the development of policies and procedures with upper management for effective and efficient practice operations. - Managing personnel matters, including new employee training, performance management, and disciplinary actions. This includes interviewing and participating in hiring decisions for the designated office. - Responding to provider needs and requests, escalating issues to Regional leaders or Administrators when necessary. - Conducting annual written performance appraisals for support staff. - Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Typically requires at least 3-5 years of experience in a Physician Practice or Healthcare setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Management/Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing multiple locations encompassing several specialties and generally 10 – 25 providers.
  • Managing Practice Manager I’s and/or Practice Supervisor at the designated locations within scope.

  • Supervising Physician Practice operations to ensure prompt and courteous treatment of patients as well as other aspects of the Practice.
  • Assisting in developing policies and procedures in conjunction with upper management to maintain the effective and efficient operation of the Practice.
  • Managing personnel issues including new employee training, performance management and disciplinary actions.
  • Interviewing new employee prospects and participating in hiring decisions for designated office.
  • Responding to the needs and requests of providers and escalating issues Regional leaders or Administrators where appropriate.
  • Performing annual written performance appraisals of support staff.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
