Practice Builder (Site/Civil Engineering)
About The Position
ATCS is seeking a highly motivated Practice Builder for its Land Development Engineering discipline in Newport News, Virginia. This leadership role focuses on business development with private-sector clients and expanding ATCS’ Land Development presence in the Hampton Roads region by winning projects with new clients. The role includes building and nurturing client relationships, identifying and marketing project pursuits, preparing proposals, managing clients and projects, and overseeing site development project delivery. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, enthusiastic about building a practice within ATCS, and an expert collaborator and team builder. The position requires expertise in land development and permitting across Hampton Roads jurisdictions, extensive site development design experience, and experience managing design staff. Travel may be required as needed. The stated salary range is $121,950 to $210,150 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual management bonus with a target of 7.5% to 12.5% of annualized salary. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits coverage on the first day of the month following their start date. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Land Planning, Architecture, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in residential, commercial, industrial, or institutional land development engineering.
- Strong existing relationships with private-sector builders, developers, landowners, and local agencies.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Expertise in land development and permitting processes in jurisdictions throughout Hampton Roads.
- Extensive experience in site development design and management of design staff.
- Ability to travel as needed.
