About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking experienced healthcare leaders for the role of Practice Administrator - Urgent Care. This role serves as the operational leader for a portfolio of urgent care clinics, overseeing day-to-day operations, performance, and strategic priorities across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing teams, driving operational excellence, and enhancing the team member and patient experience. This leader will build strong clinic leadership, advance key organizational initiatives, and ensure high-quality care, service excellence, employee engagement, and operational performance. Success requires a visible presence in the clinics, strong business and operational acumen, and the ability to lead effectively through change. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 7-10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting.
  • Includes 3-5 years managing physician practice operations.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, care delivery models, financial management, regulatory requirements, and healthcare legislation.
  • Experience utilizing benchmarking data and industry best practices to drive operational improvement.
  • Proficient with healthcare technology systems and business applications.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, move, or carry objects up to 50 pounds as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, performance, and strategic priorities across multiple urgent care locations within an assigned territory.
  • Build strong clinic leadership.
  • Advance key organizational initiatives.
  • Ensure high-quality care, service excellence, employee engagement, and operational performance.
  • Regularly travel among Greenwood, Bloomington, and Bedford locations.
  • Provide onsite rounding at least weekly across assigned sites.
  • Be visible and accessible to clinic leaders, providers, and team members.
  • Support a seven-day urgent care operation, including occasional early-morning, evening, weekend, or holiday needs.
