About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody excellence, compassion, teamwork, and purpose to join their leadership team as a Practice Administrator - Urgent Care. This newly created role serves as the operational leader for a portfolio of urgent care clinics within an assigned territory. The Practice Administrator will oversee day-to-day operations, performance, and strategic priorities, with significant autonomy and ownership. Responsibilities include building strong clinic leadership, advancing key organizational initiatives, and ensuring high-quality care, service excellence, employee engagement, and operational performance. Success requires a visible presence in the clinics, strong business and operational acumen, and the ability to lead effectively through change. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a new leadership structure, create lasting impact, and play a key role in improving outcomes for patients, providers, and team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 7-10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting, including 3-5 years managing physician practice operations.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, care delivery models, financial management, regulatory requirements, and healthcare legislation.
  • Experience utilizing benchmarking data and industry best practices to drive operational improvement.
  • Proficient with healthcare technology systems and business applications.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, move, or carry objects up to 50 pounds as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, performance, and strategic priorities across multiple urgent care locations within an assigned territory.
  • Build strong clinic leadership.
  • Advance key organizational initiatives.
  • Ensure high-quality care, service excellence, employee engagement, and operational performance.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the clinics and be accessible to clinic leaders, providers, and team members.
  • Support a seven-day urgent care operation, including occasional early-morning, evening, weekend, or holiday needs.
