About The Position

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. TMH Physician Partners is seeking an experienced and dynamic Practice Administrator III to lead our growing Pulmonary practice, supporting a team of over 25 physicians and advanced practice providers across a high-performing, multi-provider environment. This senior-level leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, advancing strategic initiatives, and ensuring high-quality patient care while aligning with the organization’s long-term vision. The Practice Administrator III provides executive-level leadership and oversight for complex physician practices, typically supporting 10+ providers or multiple locations. This role is accountable for executing the practice’s strategic vision, leading operational planning, and developing actionable initiatives in collaboration with the Executive Director, Director of Operations, and physician leadership. This position plays a pivotal role in financial performance, quality outcomes, staff development, and regulatory compliance, while fostering a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Significant progressive leadership experience in healthcare administration required
  • Proven experience managing large or multi-site physician practices
  • Strong financial acumen and operational management expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and complex initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the practice’s vision and strategic direction in alignment with TMH Physician Partners’ goals
  • Partner with the Executive Director and Director of Operations to develop operational plans, goals, and performance metrics
  • Direct and coordinate administrative policies and procedures to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Practice Administrators I & II
  • Lead key organizational initiatives and special projects
  • Monitor and analyze monthly revenue and expenses against budget, providing detailed financial insights
  • Develop, justify, and manage operating and capital budgets
  • Oversee billing, coding, and insurance processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen payer relationships and optimize reimbursement
  • Project and coordinate capital equipment needs to enhance patient care
  • Coordinate, monitor, and revise quality improvement indicators across the practice
  • Lead action plans for performance improvement when thresholds are not met
  • Investigate and resolve patient concerns with professionalism and sound judgment
  • Promote a culture of empathy, respect, and exceptional service among staff
  • Develop and implement staffing models to support operational needs
  • Oversee recruitment, performance management, and employee relations
  • Partner with HR to ensure compliance with licensing, credentialing, and regulatory requirements
  • Support leadership development and performance evaluations across teams
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, organizational policies, and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement in clinic operations, workflows, and patient care delivery
