Practical Nursing Instructor (RN)
About The Position
Stepful is seeking an experienced Instructor to join their Board of Nursing–approved Practical Nursing program. This role involves guiding and supervising students during in-person clinical rotations, partnering with program leadership for student success and program operations, and teaching across skills labs and virtual didactic modules. The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with prior nursing education experience who enjoys mentoring students and contributing to the growth of a Practical Nursing program. Clinical instruction occurs onsite at a partner healthcare facility in the Toledo/Maumee, Ohio area on Fridays from 6 am to 6 pm, aligned with program rotations. Additional responsibilities include instructional, operational, and student support activities in collaboration with the Program Director and academic team. This is a full-time position with a blend of onsite and remote duties, reporting to the Practical Nursing Program Director.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as faculty in an RN or LPN education program
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse
- 5+ years of varied nursing experience across clinical practice, nursing education, and/or administration
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Active, unencumbered Ohio RN license
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners, in both virtual and in-person settings
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise in-person clinical rotations at partner healthcare facilities in the Toledo/Maumee area (Fridays, 6a-6p)
- Deliver curriculum content, answer student questions, and provide timely feedback
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for students
- Partner with the Program Director to support ongoing program operations and student success initiatives
- Assist with instructional, administrative, and program-related activities as needed
- Serve as a subject matter expert in practical nursing education
- Teach across skills labs and virtual didactic, in addition to overseeing clinical rotations
