About The Position

Kimbell Art Museum offers paid, part-time Marketing and Public Relations internships to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates, who are interested in learning about museum practices and developing professional skills. The Kimbell internship program is designed to mentor future museum professionals from diverse cultural, economic, social, and educational backgrounds. Interns are assigned to departments based on their academic background, professional skills, interests, and goals. Under the supervision of designated staff members, interns work both independently and collaboratively to gain comprehensive experience through immersive projects.

Requirements

  • A resume describing any work or extracurricular experience.
  • A cover letter explaining what you hope to gain from participating in the Kimbell internship program.
  • An unofficial transcript.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Four academic or professional references.
  • Applicants must be able to pass a standard pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Help plan, prepare for, and implement marketing and public relations communications and activities that reach our diverse audiences.
  • Learn about daily practices within the museum profession.
  • Further develop their appreciation and understanding of masterworks on view in the galleries.
