About The Position

This position requires an employee to work between 20-25 hours per week during the school semesters, and 40 hours per week during summer, not to exceed 1,500 hours in a calendar year. Each semester, undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and graduate students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours. INTERN GUIDELINES: Students who have completed at least one year of college and are enrolled as a full-time student may apply. Must be enrolled full-time in a degree seeking program. A student’s intern position will end within three months after graduation. Pay Details: $18.00 - $21.00/hour Depends upon classification Work Schedule: Between the hours of Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 20-25 hours per week. Job Description: PURPOSE OF POSITION: Under the general direction of the Manager – Power Station Operations or designee, assists in the implementation and maintenance of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by supporting asset data validation, reconciliation, and standardization efforts to ensure accurate and reliable asset information.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent and current enrollment pursuing the Mechatronics Associate Degree or related field from an accredited college is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license (minimum Class F).
  • Basic understanding of maintenance or industrial environments and asset management concepts.
  • Introductory knowledge of CMMS and general data management principles.
  • General awareness of safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Basic analytical skills to compare and reconcile information across systems.
  • Effective communication skills for documentation and team coordination.
  • Ability to organize, track, and maintain large amounts of information in a structured manner.
  • Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and established standards.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to assist with field walkdowns, including observing and documenting equipment in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to organize and manage data in a structured, accurate manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in detail-oriented work and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to identify data inconsistencies or errors.
  • Ability to effectively utilize a range of digital tools and platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, enterprise software, artificial intelligence-enhanced applications, and self-service systems.
  • Must possess a willingness and capacity to learn and adapt to emerging technologies, including mobile devices, cloud-based systems, and data-driven platforms relevant to utility operations.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, vendors, customers, and contractors.
  • Ability to maintain adherence to all company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development, validation, and maintenance of asset hierarchies for a new Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Assists in verifying physical plant assets against existing CMMS records, engineering documentation, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) system data.
  • Supports the reconciliation and mapping of asset information between the legacy CMMS, LOTO system, and the new CMMS platform.
  • Reviews asset data for accuracy and completeness and assists in identifying duplicate, obsolete, or missing asset records.
  • Assists subject matter experts in asset validation activities, including coordination of field walkdowns and documentation of findings.
  • Assists in the collection, organization, and entry of asset data, including equipment descriptions, locations, classifications, and safety attributes.
  • Assists in documenting asset naming conventions, hierarchy standards, and data governance procedures related to CMMS implementation.
  • Assists in the preparation of documentation related to asset verification and data quality.
  • Provides administrative and technical support to the CMMS project team, including document organization and meeting support.
  • Follows applicable safety procedures and assists in maintaining awareness of Lockout/Tagout requirements related to asset records.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned by management.
