About The Position

There is currently one (1) opening for the Power Line Specialist located at Gene Camp in Parker Dam. This recruitment may result in an eligibility list.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years journey-level experience in electrical hot line maintenance
  • Experience working with electrical power lines over 600 volts at heights more than 50ft high from wood poles and Lattice Towers
  • Taking direction from complex schematic diagrams necessary to implement predictive, preventive, corrective and construction activities
  • Valid Drivers license from state of residency equivalent to a California Class A, B, and/or C with appropriate commercial license endorsements
  • High Voltage Line-Work Certification
  • Crane Certification
  • MWD High-Voltage Switching Certification

Responsibilities

  • Uses advanced, journey-level skills, experience, and knowledge in large-scale high-voltage transmission and distribution power line work
  • Applies practices, procedures, and methods for maintenance and system improvement
  • Follows safety practices, regulations, rules, and policies related to powerline work
  • Supports infrastructure such as street lighting, microwave, and telecommunications systems for communication and control of water and electric power
  • Maintains, improves, and constructs overhead electrical transmission systems
  • Maintains, improves, and constructs underground electrical distribution systems
  • Works on systems connected to pump plants, hydroelectric plants, and treatment plants
