Power Hour Coordinator
About The Position
Under the supervision of the Club Director, the Power Hour employee assists members in homework and other educational needs. The primary function is to prepare youth for success by creating an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development outcomes. This includes stimulating program participation, providing a learning-conducive environment, monitoring school agendas, grades, and skill levels to show improvement, and offering guidance and role modeling to members. The role involves developing, implementing, and administering programs, services, and activities to promote education, as well as monitoring and evaluating these programs for safety and quality. The coordinator will also prepare weekly program schedules and monthly evaluation reports, and may participate in special programs and events.
Requirements
- Background in Education
- Degree in Education or related experience or equivalent experience
- Experience working with children
- Knowledge of youth development
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Valid State Drivers License
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, youth, parents, local community leaders, schools, and community organizations
- Excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills (Microsoft Word required)
- Required to stand, walk and sit
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception

- Ensure attractiveness of the Project Learn program
- Prepare weekly schedule of programs and monthly evaluation reports
- May participate in special programs and/or events
