About The Position

We are looking for a talented Power Generation Workshop Technician to join our team specializing in Power Generation in Houston, TX. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: - Completing preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on generators or components at the customer site with minimal direction. - Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner. - Applying the use of specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools. - Completing required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens. - Completing training in line with skill and business requirements. - Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor. -Must have RV Genset experience, strong diagnostics, Load Banking Key Responsibilities: Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, assembles and reassembles power generation units, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of power generation units Assists Level III Technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans on engines in the workshop Completes required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens Completes training in line with skill and business requirements Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor

Requirements

  • Must have RV Genset experience, strong diagnostics, Load Banking
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience working with power generation products
  • High Voltage/Low Voltage practical experience
  • Must have RV experience
  • Must have Power Gen capabilities
  • Required Experience repairing and maintaining generators or similar mechanical/electrical equipment.
  • Strong understanding of engine systems, electrical circuits, and control systems.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Apprentice Trained Power Generation / Electrical Technician (Preferred)
  • Current relevant electrical certification
  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in generators of various sizes and fuel types (diesel, natural gas, propane).
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, battery testing, and load bank testing.
  • Repair or replace defective parts such as alternators, voltage regulators, wiring, control panels, and fuel system components.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Use diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals to identify root causes of equipment failures.
  • Test generator performance under load and verify proper operation after repairs.
  • Document findings, repair steps, and parts used.
  • Communicate clearly with customers about repair needs, timelines, and maintenance recommendations.
  • Provide professional, courteous service and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Complete service reports, work orders, and parts requests accurately.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and commonly used parts.
  • Follow company procedures and safety protocols.
