About The Position

This Power Generation Division multifunctional role combines leadership and plant control center operator capabilities with a maintenance technician discipline. The specialist provides real-time surveillance and operation and control of control room systems and plant equipment across multiple sites. The position is based at the Jim Robo Campus in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, follows a 12-hour continuously rotating shift schedule, includes required overtime to support operational needs, and involves minimal travel. The position reports to a supervisor.

Requirements

Must have successfully held, or currently hold, the position of Production Leader, Shift Technician, Production Specialist, or a similar industry position for at least one year.
Must have successfully qualified, or currently be qualified, to operate a control center, with that qualification held for at least one year.
Must successfully pass Plant Maintenance Positions Selection Systems (MASS).
Must be able to complete PGS training requirements.
Must be able to work a variety of hours and days due to continuously rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

Operate multiple sites and monitor their performance and operating characteristics.
Identify equipment deficiencies, take necessary action to prevent or limit failure, and optimize site efficiency.
Use effective communication to provide direction and leadership to multiple-site operations shift teams to support safe and reliable operation of sites and equipment.
Complete appropriate documentation to maintain accurate accounting and equipment history.
Function in support of other classifications and their respective accountabilities.
Complete PGS training requirements.
Work a variety of hours and days due to continuously rotating shifts.
Issue and assist with executing in-plant clearances and assist with executing BES switching orders as required.
Perform associated responsibilities according to established safe work practices and the Memorandum of Agreement.
