Power BI Reporting Engineer (Korean Bilingual)
About The Position
The Power BI Reporting Engineer designs, develops, maintains, and optimizes enterprise business intelligence and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI. The role turns business requirements into interactive dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making across MPA and affiliated organizations. The engineer works with business users, data engineers, database administrators, and IT teams to ensure reporting solutions are accurate, scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. The position also supports Power BI platform administration, reporting governance, standards, monitoring, and production support. It is based in Irvine, California, requires Korean bilingual skills, and lists a salary range of $105,000–$125,000 per year, depending on experience.
Requirements
- Korean bilingual skills are required.
- Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
- Experience with Power Query (M Language).
- Knowledge of data modeling and semantic models.
- Knowledge of star schema and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with KPI design and analytics.
- Experience with Azure SQL Database, MS Access, SQL Server, AS/400 DB2, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, and Excel and CSV data sources.
- Experience with SQL, T-SQL, DAX, and Power Query (M).
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), On-Premises Data Gateway, and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID).

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of Business Intelligence or Reporting experience.
- 3+ years of Power BI development experience.
- Strong experience with DAX and data modeling.
- Experience building executive and operational dashboards.
- Experience working with Azure-based data platforms.
- Experience migrating reports from legacy reporting tools to Power BI.
- Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse (EDW) environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Create interactive visualizations, scorecards, and executive dashboards.
- Develop reusable report templates and visualization standards.
- Optimize report performance and user experience.
- Support enterprise reporting initiatives across departments.
- Design and maintain Power BI semantic models.
- Develop star schema and dimensional models for reporting.

- Implement row-level security (RLS) and data access controls.

- Gather and analyze reporting requirements from business stakeholders.
- Convert business processes and KPIs into reporting solutions.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Provide end-user training and documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between business teams and technical teams.
- Establish reporting standards and dashboard design guidelines.
- Ensure consistency of KPIs and business definitions.
- Maintain metadata and report inventory documentation.
- Support enterprise data governance initiatives.
- Reduce duplication of reports and datasets.
- Monitor report usage, adoption, and performance.
- Troubleshoot report failures and refresh issues.
- Resolve production incidents and root causes.
- Support business users and executive stakeholders.
- Maintain SLA and operational support standards.
- Complete tasks assigned by management.
