About The Position
The Senior Power BI Developer designs, develops, and manages reporting catalogs and dashboards, integrating disparate data sources from data platforms and warehouses into reporting frameworks. The role works with Principal Solutions Architects to align data platform design with reporting tools for strong performance and end-user experience. It also contributes to project analysis, design, development, integration, maintenance, production support, testing, database development, and SQL optimization. This is a long-term, one-year W-2 position with a possible extension, based onsite in Juno Beach, Florida. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, or have an EAD, and must work through TekSystems.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in business intelligence, developing and managing reports and data sources.
- Demonstrated experience developing reporting architecture, dashboards, and portals with Power BI.
- Detailed knowledge of Power BI business intelligence security and administration concepts.
- Detailed knowledge of Power BI technology and understanding of the Microsoft BI stack.
- Knowledge of advanced-level computations on Power BI datasets.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server BI Stack tools and technologies, including SSRS, SQL, Power Query, MDX, and DAX.
- Experience with AWS and Redshift databases.
- Experience writing and optimizing SQL.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex or technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and tools.
- Ability to work independently in a project-based environment and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or commensurate years of related work experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, or have an EAD.
- Must be employed on the recruiter’s W-2 and participate in projects through TekSystems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage reporting catalogs; compare new requests with existing inventory and recommend adding or removing content.
- Integrate reporting strategies across programs and projects and align them with business strategies and management priorities.
- Bring multiple disparate data sources from the data platform or data warehouse into the reporting framework.
- Collaborate with Principal Solutions Architects to align data platform design and processes with reporting tools for performance and end-user experience.
- Contribute to project-team systems and data analysis, design, development, integration, enhancement, maintenance, and complex production support.
- Assist with defining the scope of multiple complex projects and serve as a project point of contact when necessary.
- Participate in functional, technical, and user acceptance testing and resolve identified defects.
- Build and modify database tables and views and optimize SQL queries and indexes.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining reporting best practices and standards.
- Build effective partnerships with coworkers and coordinate efforts toward team, department, and organizational objectives.
