About The Position

The Powder Painter is responsible for applying powder coating to parts while adhering to quality, safety, and productivity standards. This role involves maintaining and cleaning the paint booth and powder application equipment, as well as preparing surfaces for coating. The position requires the ability to operate various powder application equipment, adjust settings for proper thickness, and ensure a clean and organized work area. Accurate reporting of labor and job data is also a key responsibility. The role may also involve performing other tasks within the department or plant as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Complete Company forklift training program.
  • A good command of the English language is required, both written and spoken.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Must complete powder coating training and demonstrate good application technique.
  • Ability to read prints and other specification documentation.
  • Must be able to physically perform essential functions of the job.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 34 lbs. and frequently up to 50 lbs.
  • Typically requires standing on a regular basis, and moving around work area, stooping, crouching and kneeling frequently, crawling, reaching and handling items with hands occasionally.
  • May require use of a ladder.
  • Specific vision requirements include depth perception, color vision and peripheral vision.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Apply powder coating using various powder application equipment as directed by supervisor.
  • Adjust equipment to maintain required thickness of powder application.
  • Prepare surfaces of parts for powder application by using various methods; i.e., cleaning, sanding, masking, caulking, etc.
  • Load and unload parts.
  • Maintain and clean paint booth and powder application equipment.
  • Maintain quality, safety and productivity.
  • Maintain clean and neat work area.
  • Report labor and job data accurately.
  • Perform other jobs within the department or plant as required by supervision.
