Requirements

High school diploma
1 Year of forklift experience in a chemical industry.
Ability to wear respiratory protective equipment for extended periods of time, while operating a forklift.
Ability to speak and comprehend verbal instruction with a respirator in order to effectively communicate with coworkers as well as monitoring equipment.
Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and respond to call-outs as required to support continuous manufacturing operations.
Must be able to wear SCBA gear during emergency situations.
Good communications skills and the ability to function in a team environment.
The ability to follow oral or written instructions, set procedures, work rules and standards.
Must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a physical examination, functional capacity assessment, and drug screening.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive motions
Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity levels, and manufacturing environments
Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods
Ability to ascend stairs up to 80’ in height.

Previous process operator experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Cutting bags of CA, monitors the flow as well as product level in the bins, then places the product on an unloading station, using forklift.
Placing excessive product in either the unloading bin or super sacks and reworking into process.
Recording correct daily amount of bags cut and reporting to "A" operator or Shift Supervisor.
Preparing equipment for maintenance, deconning and deenergizing (Deconning sometimes requires hours of shoveling product from equipment and floor surfaces to properly decon the equipment).
Responding to plant emergencies – decomposition of product, power failures, spills, fires, explosions, and any other related emergency situations.
Collecting samples for processing.
Maintaining housekeeping duties in assigned zones and conducting safety inspections.
Recycling bags of recyclable material as required.
Participating in all aspects of the safety program including safety meeting attendance and participation.
Operating a forklift to move and/or re-locate material or equipment.
Filing all inventory tags in the designed file in numerical order and completing the required production reports for inventory control reporting.
Assisting other operators or co-workers as needed.
Performing other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.
